Narayanudeethadu

Pallavi:            NArAyaNudeethady narulAlA,  meeru saraNanaro Jimmu  gAcheeni

Hay guys!! This Venkatesa  is  nonelse  than NarayANa. Take shelter in him, He will surely rescue you..

CharaNam:1.              Thlachina chotane thane unnadu
                                       Valenanuvari Keivasamepudu
                                       Kolachenu Moodadugula JagamellAnu
                                         Kolichina vArini chekonakunduna

Wherever  one thinks, there, He will be present.  He will be always in the hands of one, whosoever wants.  When He measured entire universe with three steps, wont  He take into his hands, those worship  him.
Here, " measuring three steps" refers to "VAmanAvatAr." When Hari incarnated as a short Brahmin , VAmana, He asked the emperor Bali, to donate him three feet land. Bali said yes. VAmana stretched one foot, measured entire globe. His Second foot covered the skys. Where to measure the third foot?.
Then, Bali bowed before Hari, asking to keep step on his head. That's it. Hari pushed Bali to Patel lok. When, Hari can stretch to thri lokas, is it a big thing for him to take his devotees into his rescue?.

CharaNam2:                     EkkadapilichinA  emanipalikii
                                            Mokkina  manninchu  munumuganu
                                             Rakkasula naNachi rakshimchu jagamulu
                                               Dikkani nammina  thiramugaa nelada

From wherever may you call, He responds asking " what "?
Grants anybody's wish when resiprocated by devotion.   He saves the Lokas,  by  killing the demons.
Won't He take care of  one, if believed with total faith?.

CharaNam3:                         Chuchinayandella Choopunu roopamu
                                                Ochika pogadina undu notanu
                                                  Aechina  sree Venkatesude ithadata
                                                     Chechetha poojimpa sevalugonada

Wherever one sees, there shows his presence. If praised, stays in the mouth itself.
This is Hari, in the form of Sree Venkatesa. Won't He accept the holy services done by these hands.

In this song, Annamayya clearly conforms,  that Sree Venkatesa is Truely the form of Narayan only.
NarayANa, the  ultimate Supreme Self is here before u. Only name changed. We call Him Venkatesa .
So, without doubt,  worship Sree Venkatesa , and  get his blessings. Only the thing, you have to do is
Praying. Rest all He will take care of.

Om Namo Venkatesaya

The sankeerthana, which gives wealth, has any  flaws  in this ?
Immediately sing this sankeerthanam, which is praising sree Venkatesa.

Annamayya  asks everyone  to sing the sankeerthanam on VISHNU.
Sree Venkates,  who is similar to Vishnu, will bless his devotees with happyness, wealth, Peace of mind  and  enlightenment, if they  sing  sankeerthanam.
Venkateswara  is the Brahmam  only. Isn't  it enough, if one praises him by sankeerthanam. Singing  is such a great technique,  to reach the God.

Eethade Harudu, eethade Yajudu

Pallavi:
                  EethadeHarudu,eethade Yajudu,                                                             eethaniki  neechethalentha ghanamatugaana

This is lord Siva, this is Brahma,; If we see these actions, how great they look??. This is both, the creator  and  also the destructor;  hence, how great He  must have been ??

CharaNam1:        Kadu pekku brahmaanda katakamulu sudivadina
                               Kadupulo nidukonna ghanudu
                                Vedali puthaki chanti vishamu thaaginayantha
Vadi thanaku nemaye  vatti boomelu gaaka

The grest Supremo, holding lokas like Anda, Pinda, Brahmaanda etc  in the twister like stomach, drank the poisonous milk from the devil  Poothana, as a Child Krishna. Did any harm happend to Him?? Everything  was a farse.

In this charaNam, Annamayya refers to Sree Krishnaavatar.
When Krishna was a child, a devil, Poothana, disguised as a beauticul lady,
comes to kill him. But, lord, knower of everything  recognises the conspiracy,
kills Poothana by sucking the chest, violently.

Charanam2:             EllajalaDulu  migili   aekamei  pabbinapudu
                                   Ullasilluchu  neethadundu
                                      Mallaadi  oka  rendu maDdulu  virachinatti
                                        BalliDudavani  ninnu  pariNaminthurugaana

This great Supreme enthralls, when all oceans face Sunamy and mix as one.
This much intencity of an event, can alone give Him  euphoric joy.
When this is the case, where does the joy of breaking  after all two trees, by
Crawlling between them stands????
When Krishna was a child, YasoDa, his mother ties him to a tree,  as a punishment  to His unbearable naughtyness. Lord, by crawlling himself  breaks the trees. Then from ,Krishna was titled as" Balla".

CharaNam3:                 Thiru  venkateswarudu,  DevaDevottamudu
                                        Paripoornudachyuthudu Abhavudu
                                         SaraNaagathula  raksha seuvaadanumaata
                                            Guruthugaa  thalapoci  koniyaadavalase

The Great Venkatesa  is the God of Gods.  He is  the Comprehensive, the  indestructible,  the birthless, the Rescuer of refugees. Remembering all these titles, we must praise Him.
Annamayya explains the range of Lord's Happyness.
His acts are all of cosmic levels. When a child, Krishna did so many miraculous deeds, what could be of the grown up Krishna???. For YasoDa may be Krishna was a child, but  truth is, that, He was Personified  Supreme Self, Lord of Lords, and all powerful Almighty.. Annamayya emphasyses this great fact, in this song.

In this song, Annamayya reveals a grest secret , the physical  form of   the
Paramatma. He tells Paramatma is an  "Atom".

CharaNam2:             Paramayogijana   bhaagaDeya sree
                                    Parama  purusha  Parathparaa
                                     Paramaathma   ParamaaNuroopa
                                       Thiru Venkatagiri Deva saraNu
Annamayya clearly says that The Paramatma can exist even in such a small
ATOM.

ANureNu paripoornameina rupam

Pallavi:     ANureNu paripoornameina rupam,
                    ANimaaDi  siri  AnjanaaDri meeDi  rupam
A Figure,  completely compressable to a small atom,  is there on AnjanaDri, where AstaLakshmi  stay. Asta Lakshmi are different forms of Sree  Maha Lakshmi, designated according to their concerned powers.
Asta Lakshmi:  Dhana Lakshmi, Dhanya Lakshmi, Veera Lakshmi, SantAna Lakshmi, VidyA Lakshmi, Bhagya Lakshmi, Vara Lakshmi, Jaya Lakshmi are eight forms of sree maha Lakshmi.
CharaNam:1    VeDantha Vetthalellaa veDiketi Rupamu,
                            ADinanthyamuleni aa rupamu
                              PaaDuka yogeendrulu  bhaavinchu rupamu,
                                eeDesa nidivo konetiDari rupamu.
That  figure, which all  great phylosophers search for, which has no beginning or end,; a figure, on which PaaDuka yogies  meditate, is present, here, this side, near the  holyPond.
CharaNam2:
                      Paalajalanidhilona  pavaLinche rupamu,
                         kaalapu surya chandragni gala rupamu
                             Melimi veikuntthaana meracina rupamu,
                                keeileinaDiDe  Seshagiri meeDa rupamu.
A Figure that  sleeps in the milky ocean, who has the time desiding Sun and Moon along with fire,  who cintillates the Veikunttha, is this  prime figure, on Seshagiri , i.e.sree maha Vishnu.
CharaNam3:
                   Munchina brahmaaDulaku   moolameina rupamu,      ,
                     KOnchani marraakumeeDi  kona rupamu k
                        Manchi  parabrahmamei  mamunelina rupamu,
                           Enchaga  sri venkataDriniDe rupamu.
A Figure, which can cause the collapsing of brahmas and other entities, a figure on a. small Pepal leaf,  a figure which  rules us as great Parabrahma,  is the same figure  present on sree VenkatDri, ie Lord Venkatesa.

Here, in this song, sri Annamayya mentions some asrophisical  events, for which Lord Venkatesa  is the cause and controller.
In the last charaNam, Annamayya says, the Parabrahma Venkatesa dissolves the Brahma and other celestial  entities when their power deteriorates.
Here, one special word is used to explain such a great phenomenon, i.e. "MUNCHINA." THIS simple word" Munchina" speaks about a big celestial  event, "Collapsing of the universe ", or “Compression of Celestial configerations into a Small Atom”.
The word “Munchina “ means Dippinng or Collapsing or Destruction.
Dipping into one point, or( into the small space) ,  the Brahma, along with other celestial entities compressing compactly,  causing unimaginable dencity of "mass converted energies"  ,  is  the Act of " Parabrahmam". At the same time, That Point of “Supreme Power” is also, Parabrahma only.

This is why, in pallavi, Annamayya says,  Parabrahma can even accommodate  in a smallest particle, an Atom. (ANu, ParamaaNu ) or a Molicule.

Great spiritual souls say, to do meditation on a single point with devotion.
That is " single point devotion". This One point contemplation resembles the meditation on “Parabrahma “.

The lord is present there on AnjanaaDri,  Seshadri, and Venkataadri , as Asta Lakshmi,  as Sri maha Vishnu,  and  as   Sree Venkatesa the Parabrahma. Names are different but presence is of the same, that of Parabrahmam.
Annamayya says in one song ""Brahmamokkate, Parabrahmamokkate".
This song content too speaks the the same Austro physical concepts which are mentioned in this song, “ Brahmamokkate Parabrahmamokkate”.

Rama, the incarnation of Sri Hari, is present now, with his legacy,on venkatagiri as Venkatesa..

One  day, it was caught by a crocadile, while drinking water in a pond.  The elephant  (GajenDra ),  cried  loudly , calling Sree Hari. Immediately,  sree Hari left Veikutha, without  even telling His wife Sree Maha Lakshmi, Saved his devotee. From then onwards, Hari got a title as KarivaraDa.
This anecdote  from  "Sree Maha bhagavath" is titled as "GajenDra Moksham."

Venkatapathi ,  a shelter, truely to all.

In this song, Annamayya  explains us,  how great it is listening the Sacréd stories of Sree hari. How many advantages, how many benifits are there, by
singing or worshipping  Lord Hari regularly.

                               AnDameina Sree Venkatadri Aholabalaana, oka
                                 ChanDamuna Koodi koodi sarasamulaaderu

The bride and bridegroom are splashing the waters of  the two rivers  Kanakaavathi and Bhogaavathi on one over other. This game of "water splashing" is called " Vasantha Veaduka".
After marriage, they are enjoying on the hill Sri Venkatadri , exchanging sweet words.
Lord Narasimha stays on Ahobalam. After marriage, He started staying on Sree Venkatadri .
Here, the beautiful thing is, we all know , God is everywhere.  When on Ventadri, He is Venkatesa ,On Ahobalam, He is Narasimha.

Parabrahma is one and only one. Single unity.  But, according to the place, the  name changes.

In this song, Sree Annamayya desribes the marriage of Sri Maha Lakshmi and Sri Narasimha swami.
How in a VeDic way, there marriage was performed, is explained  beautifully .

Paramaatmudeina Hari

Pallavi:          Paramaatmudeina Hari pattapuRaaNivineevu,
Dhara mammu vichaarimpa thagu neeku nammaa

O Mother!  The prime betterhalf of Lord Sree  Hari, the Paramatma ( the universal Self ),  have a little concern about us, about these world- beings.

CharaNam:1.      Kamalaju  gannathalli, kaamuni ganna thalli,
                            Amarula ganna thalli  ADima Lakshmi
Vimalapu nee pathiki vinnapamu seaci mammu ,
                       Nemakee yelithi Daya, neekae thagunamma

Hay Maha Lakshmi!!  You are the mother of Brahma ( born out of a lotus ), mother of Manmadha ( God of love ), mother of Deavathas, . It is only possible to you, to grace us the blessings of Sree Hari, by Kindly recommending  to him,to your absolutely pure husband.

CharaNam:2.               Kaamadhaenu thobuttuga, Kalpakamu thobuttuga,
                                   Domati challani chanDru  thobuttuga
                                 Neemagani pampunaku nijasiru lichchithivi,
                             Naemapu vitharaNamu neekaethagunammaa,

You have gifted your husband Sree Hari, the true treasure generators , “Kamadhenu “
( a Devine Cow which grants all wishes ), “Kalpakamu “( a Devine tree which fulfills the demands ) and “The full Moon”, who are born along with you. It is only possible to you , to show, this type of  love exchanges.

CharaNam3:     Paalajaladhi kanyavu padmaasanivi neevu,
                          Paalapande Venkatapathi Devivi
                       Aelina ithani bantlaku, ihaparaalichchi,
                     Maa palagaligithivi sambanDhamu maelammaa

Hay Maha Lakshmi!! You are born in Milk-ocean, you sit squat in the Lotus, and the wife of Sree venkatapathi. We too related to you,; because, you got granted all our worldly- nonworldly wishes from Sree Hari, to whom we are ever devotees.

Annamayya praises Ma ,Sree Mahalakshmi, in this song... In a very jovial manner, Annamayya speaks about the sweet relation between Sree Hari and Sree Maha Lakshmi.
Sree Mahalakshmi is mother of Brahma, Manmadha, ; hence, naturally lord Hari is father to them.
Kalpakam, Kaamadhenu, and Moon are the three Coborns of Maha Lakshmi. So, Sree Hari too owns them.
Whatever a wife owns can be shared by the beloved Husband too. A subtle expression of sharing the love, and Loved things is mentioned very beautifully by Annamacharya.

Brahma kadigina paaDamu

Pallavi:              Brahma kadigina PaaDamu, Brahmamu  thanaenee PaDamu

This foot is water washed by Brahma,   which  itself is of Brahma.

Charanam1:           Chelagi vasudha kolichina Dee paaDamu, Bali thala moopina PaaDamu
Thalakaka gaganamu thannina PaaDamu, balaripu gaachina paaDamu

This charanam is narrating the Vamanavatar, in which, Lord Vishnu incarnated as a short Brahmin boy.
Vaamanaa.  Lord Maha Vishnu, as Vamanavatar, requested Bali,  three feet land as donation.
Bali said yes. Immediately, Vamanaa kept one foot on Bali's head, pushing him to PaathaL lok. Next, second leg was stretched to the sky's, inorder to measure the universe. Then where to measure the third foot? Was the question. Referring to this story, the first charanam is sung by Annamayya.

The foot which measured the entire world, the foot which was kept on the head of the  Rakshasa's king, Bali , the foot which was stretched to the sky's, was the same which rescued  VibheeshaNa.

Charanam2:           Kaamini  Paapamu kadigina PaaDamu, Paamu thala nidina paaDamu
Preamapu sreesathi picikedi PaaDamu,  paamidi thuragapu PaaDamu

That foot, which washed off the sin of a woman,  that foot,  which was kept on the head of a snake,
that foot, which has been always massaged by the loved wife,  Sree MahaLakshmi, is the same kept on the horse.

In this charanam, Annamayya quotes anecdotes from RamayaNa and Maha Bhagavath.
The woman, who turned to a stone, due to a curse by her  husband  Athri Maha Muni, was Ahalya... When the foot of Sree Rama, touched the stone, curse  washed off, stone turned to original form as Ahalya.
The snake, referred to was KaLindi, who troubled the Gopalas, those gone for fetching water from a big pond,. Lord Sree Krishna, stood over the head of that Kalindi, and killed that.
Thuragapu paaDam" refers to Kalki,  the Kali Uga Avatar. It is believed, Kalki rides over a horse.

Charanam3:             Parama yogulaku., paripari vidhamula,  paramosagedi paaDamu
Thiru Venkatagiri  thiramani chupina parama PaDamu nee PaaDamu

That foot, which granted Salvation to so many yogis, in different ways, is the sacred foot of Lord Sree Thirupathi Venkatesa.., Seven hills are the Ultimate Destination of Kaliuga.

Here, in this song, Annamayya  praises the greatness of Lord's feet.
Who so ever takes shelter in the feet of Lord Venkatesa , will be blessed for ever.

            Om  Namo Venkatesaya
